Lake Maratanza is the largest sky lake in the Shawangunks and is currently the water supply for the village of Ellenville . It is accessed from the Sam’s Point Visitor Center and is at an elevation of 2,242 feet. It is a shallow lake that has been dredged and dammed to make the glacial basin deeper. It is held by the village of Ellenville.
